THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT BOB!

hELLO,

It’s been a while but with just under a fortnight to go I thought you might want to know a few essentials about BOB!

OPENING TIMES:

Saturday:  10am-5pm       Sunday:  10am-4pm

PARKING:

There is parking at the venue and you can also park in various places across town, follow the link below for full details:

www.bakewellonline.co.uk/documents/parking_in_bakewell/

No car parks in Bakewell charge above £4.50 for the day.

Station Road car park is up a hill from the venue – all the others are a flat walk.

There are limited disable spaces in all car parks and the ability to drop of passengers outside the centre.

If parking in the town centre it is difficult to park for longer than two hours so we recommend one of the other sites.

SAT-NAV:

Unlike most of Derbyshire Sat-Navs don’t tend to get too lost around Bakewell! For those using Sat-Nav or google map etc… the address is:

Agricultural Business Centre, Agricultural Way, Bakewell, Derbyshire, DE45 1AQ

MONEY:

There will be no card facilities available at BOB so please bring cash. Some vendors may accept cheques.

There are plenty of ATM machines available within no more than 5mins stroll from the centre.

Banks in Bakewell open on the Saturday morning include: Natwest, Post Office.

DOGS:

Dogs are allowed on site but please keep them on short leads as it will get very crowded (hopefully)!

FOOD:

There is a cafe on site and several places to eat within the town centre (2-5mins walk). Access to the town centre is on the flat and along well maintained footpaths.

PLACES TO STAY

As promised, here’s a useful list of links for places to stay for the weekend of BOB. Most of these listed today are around and about Matlock, none are more than half an hour’s drive from Bakewell and the transport links between Matlock and Bakewell are very good should you want to use public transport. Anyone coming by train may like to look at the places in Matlock, Matlock Bath or Cromford itself as the train runs right through (to Matlock) from Derby once an hour and then there are buses about once every half hour to Bakewell. Nearer the time I’ll post a full list of buses, trains and road directions.

MORE TO COME TOMORROW…..

TICKETS

Just a quick reminder that tickets are now available for advance bookings (and you’ll save a £1 if you do!)

Check out our new ticket page for full details.

Also why not wander over to our facebook page: www.facebook.com/UndergroundCraft and check out our new daily stars – Everyone featured will be at BOB – promise!!

From Monday we’ll be starting a countdown on the blog here, so keep an eye out for new details, where to stay, where to go visit and eat over the weekend and, of course, who’s going to be at BOB, what’ll be going on at BOB and any little treats we can get for you all!!

The Wool Experience

We’ve not been around much over the last week or so because we’ve been frantically preparing for THE WOOL EXPERIENCE…..!

Very Exciting news here – and a good preview of some of the fabulous stalls that’ll be at BOB as well as some others! For fleece fanatics and spinners you’ll find a fleece stall, for any other woolly fans there’ll be wool galore and for those that get dragged along there’s Ice Cream, wonderful ICE CREAM!!!!

Do come along – Buns and Balls’ll be there alongside: Skeins, Amber Valley Alpacas, Murmuring Wheel, The Singing Shearer, Forest Crafters, Carol Wilson…and many more!!

Excuse the gap!!

I’m sorry to have been so silent on you for a while – been stuck in the first few weeks of a new job and had no breathing space! Still, I’m back for good!

Just started counting up our final list of stalls, every time I try doing this I get someone else, which is brilliant. It’s thrilling to see what a fabulous mix we have of crafts, new and established traders and people from across the country – I’m over the moon! Every single person is an independent trader and hopefully everyone at BOB will benefit from reaching a new audience and have a chance to establish new contacts and make friends!!

Let’s talk Business!

Here’s a few business updates for you all:

  • Does anyone who is intending to make day trips to BOB or lives within an easily driveable distance have a spare bed, sofa or bit of floor(!) they’d be willing to give to a stallholder for the weekend?
  • Tickets are available from 11th June
  • We have some spaces left so, if you haven’t sent through an application it’s first come first served!
